Coach Profile
Hi Guys,
My name is Marc Wachter and I am the new Head Coach at Cwmbran LTC.
I have been a full time coach for 5 years and have just left Allt-yr-yn LTC where I ran a successful program for the past two years. I had a team of 3 coaches and 5 tennis leaders helping me acheive a higher standard of tennis and a great improvement in participation throughout all ages .
I have coached all levels from beginner through to county standard and last year was the County Cup Captain when South Wales won the u10 National Junior County Cup. This year I am captaining the u10 and u14 teams so hopefully more success will follow.
I played to a high standard as a junior playing a variety of county and national tournaments and also representing South Wales. This year I am playing Natonal Club league for Newport, and will hopefully compete in the Welsh Senior Championships in May.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and spending time with you on court to help you acheive your goals.
My aims are to increase the numbers of juniors playing competitively, especially mini tennis, and implement a mini tennis performance program. With our great facilities we have an excellent chance of developing some great players. I also plan to start a comprehensive adult program so that all players, be it social, or team players can improve their performances and get the most from playing.
There will be an open day and Racket Demo day very soon at the club where you can get any equipment you like..... Keep an eye on the website for details.
